Founded by Mark Allen in 1993, Allen & York was launched in response to the pressing need for companies to become more sustainable, energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Combined with this, was a steady growth of qualified environmental sustainability professionals seeking employment. As a result, Mark Allen spotted the gap in the market for a dedicated specialist sustainability recruitment consultancy and with careful planning and focussed ambition, determination and the support of friends and family; Allen & York was successfully created.
As the business grew, Allen & York expanded with the establishment of dedicated recruitment teams in all areas of sustainability; including waste, health & safety and energy. Not only did the range of services offered by Allen & York grow, but the business also soon became global; with international offices being set up in Dubai and Melbourne in 2010. Whilst in the UK, 2011 saw the launch of SSG; the dedicated executive search arm of Allen & York and in 2012 Mark Allen moved into the role of CEO, promoting Paul Gosling to the position of Managing Director, UK & Europe; Christopher Ouizeman, Managing Director, Australia and Jean-Maxime Long, Managing Director, Middle East.
Now proud to be celebrating 20 years of supporting the careers of thousands of professionals worldwide, Allen & York has grown to become an internationally trusted, leading provider, with an ever-growing number of clients across the globe.
