Wilmar extends sustainability leadership with fifth consecutive inclusion in Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index

Singapore, 4 May 2026 – Wilmar International Limited (“Wilmar” or “the Group”) has secured its place in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index for the fifth consecutive year, reaffirming its position as the only Singapore-based company in the Food Products category to feature in both the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index and the Asia Pacific Index.

Group Chief Sustainability Officer for Wilmar, Jeremy Goon, said, “We are proud to be a constituent of the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index for the fifth consecutive year, and the Asia Pacific Index for the sixth consecutive year. This consistent recognition is a testament to the long-term commitment of our teams across our global operations.”

“Each year, we are reminded that this is not a destination but an ongoing responsibility to the environment, communities we operate in and our stakeholders. We remain dedicated to raising our standards and driving meaningful change across the agribusiness sector,” he added.

The Group achieved an ESG score of 68 out of 100 in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) 2025, placing it in the 92nd percentile of the Food Products category. Wilmar outperformed its industry peers across all three ESG dimensions.

The Group’s disclosure rate of 93 per cent for CSA required public disclosure and 92 per cent for CSA additional disclosure were rated as very high relative to its peers by S&P Global.

Sustainability highlights

Beyond the index inclusion, Wilmar continued to make meaningful progress across its sustainability agenda in 2025. Key achievements include:

  • In early 2025, Wilmar became the only agricultural company listed in Singapore to have both near- and long-term science-based emissions reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) under the SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard and the SBTi Forest, Land, and Agriculture (FLAG) Guidance.
  • Being amongst the pioneers to have a standalone NDPE Annual Implementation Report which is published annually alongside the Sustainability Report to maintain transparency in reporting.
  • Setting aside close to 33,000 hectares as conservation land from its oil palm and sugar plantations alongside restoring riparian zones to enhance ecosystem resilience and support endangered species.
  • Conducting assessments to ensure that 100 per cent of Wilmar’s employees and contractors receive a living wage.
  • Awarded a perfect score in the Global Child Forum Global Benchmark 2025 for efforts in safeguarding children’s rights, demonstrating a commitment to child welfare. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Wilmar has achieved a perfect score, while maintaining its position as the top scorer since 2020. The Group supported the education of over 12,000 children of compulsory school-going age.
  • Maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace in accordance with policies such as Equal Opportunity Policy, Women’s Charter, and Sexual Harassment, Violence and Abuse, Reproductive Rights Policy.
  • Exceeding both Board gender diversity targets ahead of schedule, with female representation reaching 31 per cent in 2025, surpassing the 25 per cent target by 2025 and 30 per cent by 2030.

The Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices, formerly known as the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices prior to a name change effective February 2025, are a pioneering series of global sustainability benchmarks first launched in 1999. The index family comprises global, regional and country benchmarks.

Wilmar made its debut in the Asia Pacific Index in 2020 and became a constituent of the World Index in 2021. The Group is also a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index, further reinforcing its recognition across leading global sustainability benchmarks.
