The latest countries to be covered by the REDD Desk are Colombia, Guatemala, Bolivia, Costa Rica and Vanuatu, adding to a collaborative global research study now covering 26 countries.
The REDD Desk country databases include information and analysis on areas relevant to national progress towards REDD readiness, including all initiatives, actors, laws and financing related to efforts to reduce emissions from deforestation and degradation.
The latest research showcases the variety of national approaches towards REDD+, including: Costa Rica’s leadership in the area of Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES), Colombia’s impressive progress in establishing operational REDD+ pilot projects; and Bolivia’s unique national approach, parallel to REDD+, which seeks a new path to avoided deforestation, forest conservation and sustainable management.

GCP’s REDD Desk was initially launched in late 2009 as a centralised collaborative knowledge platform to increase transparency and accessibility of information on REDD+ readiness.
