Garden Beats 2019 steps up to become Singapore's first carbon-neutral music fest

Start 2019 right with Singapore’s sustainable Music & Picnic Festival, returning for its 5th year anniversary. The much-anticipated line-up is here and for the first time ever, Garden Beats has specially curated new programmes happening back-to-back to keep you going all day long.

Music

This year, Garden Beats is thrilled to broaden its music horizon to other shores with veteran English Indie band—The Kooks and a brand new mix of R&B; acts—Alina Baraz and Masego. For the festival’s core Electro crowd, Black Coffee, Alle Farben and Coran will be gracing the stage alongside Disco Funk artist—Yung Bae. Singapore’s finest— Orio, Daryl C.,Toppings and Bongomann will be warming up the crowd with daytime sets.

Stepping up our eco-friendly initiatives

Since 2018, Garden Beats has taken its first steps towards becoming the first carbon-neutral music festival in Singapore. This year, we will be extending our initiatives with a complete ban of single use plastics and opting for bio-degradable cups and cutleries. Recycling and food composting stations will also be made available at the festival fields. In addition, we will be introducing the Garden Beats Tin Cups, with which festival-goers will be able to receive a discount when purchasing drinks!

Picnic fields

Nestled amidst the lush greenery of Fort Canning Park our Picnic Fields will be the perfect spot for a picturesque picnic on the hill with your tribe.

For those who do not have the time to prep for their own picnic, head to our Culinary Fields pop-up stalls and enjoy an array of mouthwatering savoury treats from vegan to meat delights such as Don HoDumpling DarlingsUdders, Papi’s Tacos, Fat Prince, Kult Kafe and 25 Degrees.

Talks

Join renowned speakers—Kim Stengert of World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Rebecca Cappelli of Let Us Be Heroes, Raye Padit of The Fashion Pulpit, Laura Francois of Fashion Revolution, Hailin Pek of Zero Waste SG and Vikas Garg from Abillionveg as they discuss topics covering Conscious Eating, Sustainable Fashion and Journeying to zero waste & plastic free.

Wellness

Treat yourself to a relaxing afternoon with Garden Beats’ first wellness oasis, the Zen Garden. Revitalise the mind, body and soul in a unique outdoor setting surrounded by the tranquility of Fort Canning Park or take a break away from the hustle and bustle of the festival and retreat to the Flower Fortress.

Arts

Get creative at our Conscious Workshops. Explore how colour pigments were created back in the day using fruits, plants and foliage or find out how to make your own unique natural aromatherapeutic DIY body mist. Make recycling fun and take a picture with our trash monster recycling bins!

Immerse yourself in the creative experience by leaving a mark at the Garden Beats Giant Mural or our iconic Arch of Love.

Playing fields

Our beloved Playing Fields are back! Get competitive at our crowd favourite lawn games—cornhole, ring toss, sack race, Jenga or hula hoop—and keep a look out for a few new additions!
