Tesla Roadster
The handmade carbon fiber Tesla Roadster is the world’s first electric car in commercial production that delivers supercar performance with zero tailpipe emissions. The Roadster accelerates like a jet plane from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds and consumes no petroleum. A single charge from a standard 3-pin wall socket is all it takes for the Roadster to travel nearly 400 km.
With a highly limited production (less than 50 units are produced per month), the Tesla is owned and driven by global thought leaders as well as celebrities and wealthy entrepeneurs. Owners include Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, inventor Dean Kamen, music impresario Will.i.am, and Hollywood royalty such as Brad Pitt, Leonardo di Caprio, Matt Damon, and Cameron Diaz.
The base model in Singapore will retail at a price starting from $520,000.
YikeBike
The YikeBike is the world’s lightest foldable electric bike. With no chains, pedals, cables or levers, this beautifully designed 10 kg carbon fibre bike can be easily folded in under 20 seconds, carried onto buses, trains and cars, and fits nicely under your desk. The radical and unique design has been named by Time Magazine as one of the top inventions of 2009 and has won first place in the International Design Awards “Urban Sustainable Design” category. The YikeBike’s ability to effortlessly take commuters from their home to the nearest public transport without the need for bicycle parking facilities is attracting global attention as a last-mile solution for increasingly congested urban cities.
The YikeBike has a retail launch price of S$ 4,988 while a slightly heavier (14kg) Fusion model retails at S$2,988.
