Autodesk announces four new Clean Tech Partners in Singapore

Marks Anniversary of its Singapore Clean Tech Partner Programme

Autodesk Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) a leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software, is celebrating the first anniversary of its Clean Tech Partner Program in Singapore. Since its inception, thousands of companies have joined the program worldwide, including many Singapore-based innovators.

The Autodesk Clean Tech Partner Program provides Autodesk Digital Prototyping software to clean technology companies for a minimal fee, with the goal of accelerating innovation and addressing some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. With the strong support of government, the program has attracted Singapore-based companies involved in clean technology businesses such as solar power, wind power, electric vehicles, green buildings, waste and water treatment, and smart grids.

Jake Layes, Autodesk head of Sustainability and Clean Tech for Asia Pacific, said, “We are excited to celebrate the first anniversary of our Clean Tech Partner Program in Singapore, and to welcome many new partners. Singapore is of strategic importance to us, since it has demonstrated strong initiative and support towards clean tech development. This local focus has shown an increasing influence on industry segments such as green manufacturing, smart-grids, smart-cities, energy efficiency and energy generation. Through our program, it is our endeavor to empower clean technology pioneers to create a more sustainable and better world.”

Singapore-based participants in the Clean Tech Partner Program include:

BioMachines

BioMachines develops environmental monitoring solutions for remote locations, such as those in forestry and agriculture. Its intelligent platforms improve the accuracy and quality of data in remote locations and enable research scientists to save valuable time collecting information on changes in atmosphere, soil, plants, animals and water. Co-founder Vincent Wei said, “By using Autodesk solutions, we are able to design, visualize and simulate our groundbreaking ideas. With digital prototypes we can explore and communicate ideas and test multiple concepts to accelerate improvements for our clients, such as Asian Plantation Capital, a leading operator of sustainably managed forestry and agricultural plantation based in Thailand.”

Green Building Group

Green Building Group develops a third-generation thin film solar technology solution known as Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV). This technology is tailored for the façade cladding industry. It is considered a breakthrough technology that can drive solar industry growth. Managing Director Philip Kwang said, “We need sophisticated software to design our solar products for integration with the façade systems. By using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD software products we can customize our product design to meet special architecture requirements. We are grateful to Autodesk for supporting an emerging and significant component of the clean energy sector, and for providing us with tools to develop cutting-edge solar technology solutions.”

Sing Yue Technologies

Sing Yue Technologies develops renewable energy products. Its current product portfolio includes the patent-pending Compressed WindTurbine design and Wind Controller product that is under development. Its unique WindTurbine is targeted towards urban living. Founder Mile Cheung said, “We are glad to be part of the Autodesk Clean Tech Partner Program. We are using Autodesk Simulation Mechanical software and Autodesk’s broad portfolio of Digital Prototyping software. This technology allows us to save time and resources when assessing materials and parametric data needed to fit our design specifications. We have also been able to impress investors with realistic movies created using Autodesk Showcase software.”

Greenlots

Greenlots improves energy efficiency of the grid through managed charging of electric vehicles. The company offers a cloud-based network with charging station hardware for businesses, governments and utilities to set up and operate their own charging networks. Greenlots has sold systems in 13 countries and has benefited significantly from the Clean Tech Partner Program since the program was launched in Singapore. “We were proud to be the first Singapore-based company to join the Autodesk Clean Tech Partner Program. The program has provided a significant boost to hardware design for companies like us, who are focused on low-cost prototyping and rapid product development,” said CEO and co-founder Ron Mahabir. “Autodesk Digital Prototyping software gives us access to some of the best professional design technology, helping us accelerate innovation and compete globally.”
