Environment Minister Yaacob to attend post-Cancun climate talks

Singapore’s Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, will be attending a ministerial consultation on “Implementing the Cancun Agreements”.

The meeting will be held in Mexico City on Wednesday and Thursday, March 23-24.

The Ministry of Environment and Water Resources said the meeting is an informal exchange of views on ways to facilitate the work on climate change negotiations for this year, with a view towards the fulfilment of the mandates from the Cancun Agreements.

Dr Yaacob will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Climate Change Secretariat.
