NGERS Audit Compliance Training- Online

A 3⁄4 day Webinar on the NGER (Australian National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting) legislation covering those sections set out in Part G of the Greenhouse and Energy Auditor Registration Guidelines for Category 1 (non-technical) and Category 2 auditors. The training program covers all of the Parts, Divisions & Schedules set out in Appendix B of the Guidelines.

1. WHO SHOULD DO THE TRAINING?

Existing financial auditors who wish to apply to the Australian Clean Energy Regulator to become a registered Greenhouse and Energy Auditor and who need to demonstrate appropriate evidence of the NGER legislation knowledge requirements.

2. WHY DO THE TRAINING?

To register as a Greenhouse and Energy Auditor, the NGER Regulations 2008 (Legislative Instrument no 127, 2008 as amended) require that applicants have NGER legislation knowledge and be able to provide to the Clean Energy Regulator appropriate evidence of the knowledge (sub-regulation 6.14). Section 7 of the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (Auditor Registration) Instrument 2010, requires evidence of how the knowledge was obtained, including relevant training in NGER legislation.

“In the view of our Registration as Greenhouse and Energy Auditors, RSM Bird Cameron hired Carbon Training International to provide a Workshop on the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme. This workshop was offered to all relevant managers and partners over a 1-day workshop which consisted in a high level review of the sections NGER Act, Regulations, Measurement and Audit Determinations, including specific reference to the knowledge requirements relevant to the Registration. We were pleased that the specific objectives of the training were fulfilled and participants could come away with an improved understanding of the NGER legislative framework and the new audit role they will be required to support in the low carbon economy. The trainers Rob and Bruce were experts in their field and were able to share their insights relating to the impact of carbon disclosure legislation across a broad range of industries”.
