Made In Singapore: Future of food

Here in Singapore, we love our food and we cannot lie. With a plethora of dishes and flavors from all corners of the world, It’s no wonder eating is the (unofficial) Singapore’s favorite pastime.

As Singapore imports over 90% of our food supply, we are exposed to the volatilities of the global food market, which include sudden disruptions to transport routes, export bands, climate change and most recently, the pandemic. To combat this and ensure food security, Singapore has set an ambitious 30-by-30 goal. In other words, by 2030, the nation state aims to produce at least 30 per cent of its food needs. But to that very ambitious end, we need to rethink our approach to how we feed our country.

We’ve assembled a panel of founders who are pushing the boundaries of innovation in what we consume. Our lineup of speakers are creating plant-based seafood alternatives, creating sustainable and safe methods for milk production, and getting you to eat your veggies by turning them into delicious snack.

Our panelists will share the breakdown of the complexities to overcome in order to drive innovation in this sector. Digest what they have to say as they present the technologies used in the FoodTech ecosystem, the alternative solutions for Food Production, and other developments under the way for food production in the future.
