Officially hosted by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, IEC is the first event in the region to look at the rapidly increasing problem of industrial waste in the GCC.
Saudi Arabia and the GCC has experienced rapid industrial growth and diversification in recent years. This has created fiscal solvency but also problems with hazardous and non hazardous waste, especially in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors.
The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu have identified a vital need for stricter regulations, legislation and policing to be put in place.
FIEC aims to tackle the issues of how to safely and sustainably deal with this waste and discuss policies, legislation, monitoring and control of waste management across all industries in the Kingdom.
