Cut the carbon: decoding climate targets for businesses

Cut the carbon: decoding climate targets for businesses

As companies make claims on tackling the climate crisis, they might face greenwashing accusations. How can they make meaningful commitments?

Increasing demand from a wide range of stakeholders such as investors, governments, non-profit organisations, and individuals has led to a rise in corporate climate commitments. Compared to 2019, net-zero pledges have tripled in 2020. However, such commitments often have different terminology that can cause skepticism or confusion.

As the biggest companies strive to trumpet their public commitments, the need for clarity and to match words with action is becoming increasingly important. To address this, we are hosting a virtual seminar in our Climate & Business event series titled ‘Cut the Carbon: Decoding Climate Targets for Businesses’.

During the event, experts from PwC Singapore and WWF-Singapore will explain the terms that are relevant for businesses looking at targets and reporting to address the climate crisis. We will also have corporate leaders share their experiences with standards like the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) followed by an interactive Q&A session. Details of the event are as follows:
