We are pleased to invite you to an upcoming interactive workshop in Jakarta on 14 March 2019, that focuses on accelerating implementation of sustainable palm oil commitment in Indonesia.
The event is co-hosted by the Sustainable Districts Association (Lingkar Temu Kabupaten Lestari or “LTKL” in Indonesian) in partnership with CDP as an effort to align private sector efforts with jurisdictional support from district governments.
This workshop will mark the 10-year anniversary of CDP Supply Chain Program. The program has grown from a few companies to 115 global organisations that are currently engaging 11,000 suppliers to pursue ambitious climate action, water security goals, and deforestation commitments.
This workshop will introduce CDP Supply Chain Forest Program in Indonesia, which aims to help companies to remove deforestation from corporate supply chain and managing risks related to producing/sourcing palm oil commodity.
CDP will also share the key findings of the 2018 Indonesia Forest Report, to be released that day. In this workshop, LTKL will facilitate an interactive session that allows participants to link individual corporate commitments with Jurisdiction Approach (JA) focusing on sustainable commodities transformation.
The workshop aims to:
- Present the latest trend and analysis on global and regional palm oil from the 2018 CDP forest disclosure.
- Explain the importance of corporate disclosure on deforestation risks related to palm oil and how halting deforestation helps organisations to realise business opportunities.
- Provide information on best practice and lessons learned on improving corporate’s environmental performance and supply-chain sustainability in palm oil sector.
- Identify linkage between corporate disclosure and Jurisdictional Approach (JA) to contribute towards jurisdictional scale transformation of palm oil supply chain.
