Launched in 2011, the CDL-Compact Singapore Young CSR Leaders Award is a case-competition that promotes thought leadership amongst our future leaders to foster greater awareness of embracing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles into a company’s business strategy and practices. Targeted at youths aged between 17 and 30, the Award hopes to cultivate a new generation of young leaders to champion a sustainable future for Singapore and beyond.
This competition is a cross-sector partnership between City Developments Limited (CDL) and the Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS) which aims to:
● Educate and promote CSR amongst our future leaders to appreciate the corporate, social and environmental challenges and fundamental importance of weaving CSR principles into the fabric of any organisation.
● Provide youths a platform to execute CSR principles within a real-life business scenario.
● Encourage and engage organisations to practise CSR and possibly adopt viable CSR strategies proposed by the student teams.
Back for the sixth year, the 2016 CDL-Compact Singapore Young CSR Leaders Award will feature new business cases from multinational and large organisations including DSM Singapore, Hilton Worldwide, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, NatSteel Holdings and Ricoh Asia Pacific, to name a few.
These organisations will identify specific CSR aspects that they are concerned with, and each participating team will propose a feasible CSR strategy for the organisation of their choice. The 10 finalist teams can also look forward to a practical attachment with one of these organisations to learn first-hard about the challenges of implementing CSR across complex operations for business excellence and sustainability.
The top three teams and seven finalist teams will receive attractive cash prizes. The Award is now open for registration until 15 February 2016.
