On 21 Jun 2014, Treetops Executive Residences became the only serviced apartment in South-East Asia to win the prestigious Green Leadership Award 2014 under the Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards (AREA) programme.
In clinching this accolade, Treetops joins a distinguished lineup of winners which includes global brand names like HSBC, Pfizer, Standard Chartered Bank, TNT, Unilever and others.
Organised by Enterprise Asia – the region’s premier non-governmental organization for entrepreneurship – AREA confers recognition on companies that have demonstrated outstanding corporate social responsibility. The programme’s scope covers diverse areas such as eco-sustainability, people development, health promotion, community improvement and social empowerment. Award winners are selected through rigorous audits conducted by an independent panel comprising business leaders, noted academics, retired senior government officials and former political office holders.
A key initiative that put Treetops ahead of its competition in the Green Leadership category is the installation of a Tri-generation plant which supplies electricity to the development while at the same time channeling exhaust heat to power air-conditioning and provide hot water for domestic use.
Mr Tay Hock Soon, General Manager of Treetops Executive Residences, said: “Underlying the Tri-generation plant is a committed belief that with technology, we can make the most of the limited resources we have. In addition to technological hardware, Treetops have also implemented “heart-ware” in the form of the Treetops Love Care & Clean Programme, which aims to sponsor and care for elderly members of society. In addition to monetary assistance, Treetops staff take time off their busy schedules to visit beneficiaries, clean their homes and spend time with them.
