GLOBE 2014 features foremost innovators in Business of the Environment

Vancouver, Canada – Taking place March 26-28, 2014 in Vancouver, Canada, GLOBE 2014 series conference has released the names of some of its keynote speakers for the upcoming international environmental business summit.

Amory Lovins, Co-Founder & Chief Scientist, Rocky Mountain Institute, a world-renowned consultant physicist, is a leading innovator in energy. With 31 books and hundreds of papers to his credit, Time Magazine named him one of the world’s most influential people in 2009. Lovins will share insights from his Reinventing Fire research that provides a roadmap for running a strong global economy without the need for oil, coal, or nuclear energy.

Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Nestlé, is highly active in the discussion surrounding water scarcity. He’s the author of Nestlé’s Water Challenge blog that aims to create discussion about the important issue of water availability around the world. He also supports ‘Managing Water Use in Scarce Environments: A Catalogue of Case Studies,’ which is comprised of 42 case studies from around the world that involve water scarcity issues and solutions.

Hans Engel, Chief Financial Officer, BASF SE & Chairman and CEO, BASF Corporation, has over 25 years of experience working in the chemicals industry, and has served on the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE since 2008. He has helped to shape the success of BASF’s oil and gas business throughout the world. Currently serving as the CEO of BASF Corporation, Engel leads all activities in the North American business region including BASF Corporation in the U.S., BASF Canada, BASF Mexicana, and the Global Catalysts Division.
