EPSI Computers becomes first CarbonNeutral computer hardware company

EPSI Computers and The Carbon Consulting Company culminated their successful partnership with the certification of EPSI Computers as South Asia’s first CarbonNeutral computer hardware company in Colombo recently.

EPSI Founder and CEO Niranjan Canagasooryam said “We see ‘going green’ and sustainability as a critical part of EPSI’s ethics and values. Not only can green business practices and processes help protect the environment, but it also helps a company improve its bottom line.The company’s carbon emission reduction program commenced as part of EPSI’s initiative towards good Corporate and Environmental Citizenship. The objective is to take responsibility for the company’s actions and encourage a positive impact through its activities on the environment, consumers, employees, communities, stakeholders and all other members of the public sphere.

A business that makes the decision to be environmentally-conscious will often promote goodwill among potential customers, while making the world a better place for future generations,” he said.

“The drive to position Sri Lanka as a destination for environmentally sustainable IT is definitely underway,” The Carbon Consulting Company COO Sanith de S. Wijeyeratne said.

“More companies in this sector are choosing to totally offset their carbon footprint, while taking action to adopt the mitigation strategies to achieve long-term sustainability.

“This is response to the growing demand from increasingly well informed and ecologically conscious customers worldwide, that the technology services that are offered are carried out in a sustainable manner,” he said.
