The end of a nuclear stalemate for India

Canada has agreed on terms to lift its export restriction on uranium for Indian nuclear power plants, ending a 36-year ban. The agreement, which finalises terms for an earlier deal from 2010, will pave the way for expanded nuclear power production in the energy-starved country. However, community protests against nuclear have been on the rise in India.
