Eco-Business is looking for a passionate and motivated individual with solid writing skills and experience in the media industry to join our growing, dynamic team as a Journalist / Copywriter contributing to our editorial and content work across the Asia Pacific.
This role requires a strong grasp of current affairs, sustainable development topics, solid reporting skills, and the ability to create clear and compelling content across Eco-Business platforms. You will work closely with the editorial team to produce high-quality journalism and storytelling across various formats.
You must have an excellent work ethic, an interest in sustainable development topics, be a team player, and be able to meet strict deadlines.
This is a full-time position open to candidates based in Indonesia, Philippines, and Singapore.
Key responsibilities include:
- News gathering, conducting interviews, and supporting the development of editorial content plans and contributing story ideas
- Using a range of AI-enabled content tools to produce multiple stories across different formats, aligned with our editorial policies and principles
- Writing news reports, features, and thought leadership articles
- Project liaison, management and contact building
- Basic editing and proofreading
- Tracking and reporting impact metrics for content projects
- Ability to write for social media and targeted audiences
- Staying up to date on industry trends and best practices, including through attending industry events and conferences
Key Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience and proven track record in the media industry
- Strong writing and editing skills, with a portfolio of writing samples
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Ability to speak and write a second Asian language is welcome
- Knowledge of the company’s target audience and goals
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Time management and organisational skills, and the ability to multitask
- News ethics and values
- A team player who has the desire to learn and grow
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
Only those with the required experience will be shortlisted for interviews. All shortlisted candidates will be required to take a writing test.
