Water Expo China: More than two-thirds of exhibition space already sold

Organisers hold largest ever Water Enterprises Event in Shanghai to support December’s show

More than two-thirds of the exhibition space for December’s Water Expo China + Water Membrane China is already sold.  The show, which is China’s first water business exhibition, will be held 2 – 4 December 2013 at the China National Convention Center, Beijing, China. More than 500 exhibitors are expected to showcase their products and technologies in 22,000 sqm.

Organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society (CHES) and the Membrane Industry Association of China (MIAC), the three-day show is approved by China’s Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Science and Technology, and sponsored by the Ministry of Water Resources.

Commenting on the show Mr Jason Cao, Senior General Manager for Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd said: “The strong exhibitor numbers to date show the growing importance of Water Expo China + Water Membrane China in the strategic plans of many well known domestic and international brands. Exhibitors are representing the water resources, water ecology, wastewater treatment, and water related equipment sectors. Additionally, we are very happy to announce that we will have pavilions from Germany’s state of Bavaria and Taiwan Region. Australia, Japan and the UK have also shown interest in organising national pavilions and groups.”  

Association cooperation results in Special Industry Zone and various buyer delegations

Making its debut at Water Expo China + Water Membrane China will be the Special Industry Zone which will feature exhibitors attending the show as a result of government agency and association cooperation.

Mr Li Zan Tang, Secretary General of CHES commented: “This will provide a powerful impetus for the exhibition as we harness the synergy of co-operation with associations, chambers of commerce, institutes and other interested parties.”

Organisers hold largest ever Water Enterprises Event in Shanghai to support December’s show

To help promote Water Expo China + Water Membrane, the first ever Water Enterprises Event was held on 14 May 2013 in Shanghai and was co-organised with the Shanghai Water Reclamation Trade Association.  

Nearly 200 industry representatives from the drainage and sewage sectors attended the event which featured government officials and industry experts who presented the following topics:

• Interpretation of Water Policy and Introduction to Shanghai Water Industry: Mr Tang Jianguo, Vice Director, Water Resources Administration of Shanghai Water Authority

• Development of Environmental Technology Research Progress Evaluation System: Mr Liu Ping, Director, China Environmental Science Society

• Innovation, Profession, Development – An Introduction to Shanghai Cheng Tou Waste Water Treatment Co Ltd: Mr Mai Suihai, President, Shanghai Cheng Tou Waste Water Treatment Co Ltd

• Introduction to Shanghai Drainage System and Prospect: Mr Ma Yuandong, Director, Shanghai Municipal Drainage Administration

Commenting about the Water Enterprises Event, Mr Hu Fusheng, Secretary General of the Shanghai Water Reclamation Trade Association said: “The event was very successful and the feedback from attendees was very positive as they enjoyed the opportunity to meet face-to-face with experts.  As a result, the attendees have expressed an interest in attending further events. The purpose of the event was to set up a connection between government and enterprises to enhance communication and cooperation so as to develop more business opportunities. We hope to have more cooperation opportunities so we can learn from each other in order to achieve sustainable development of our water resources.”

Delegate Mr Shi Minggen, Secretary General, Senior Engineer, Technical Committee of Component and Instrument, Chinese Association of Automation said: “I attended this event to better understand the water industry and to evaluate the exhibition. It has also been useful to get in touch with water industry experts and companies.”
