Leading thinkers and top CSR stakeholders to meet for AFCSR 2014

Leading thinkers and practitioners from business, government and social enterprises will converge in Manila, Philippines on September 2-3, 2014 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel for the 13th Asian Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility (AFCSR), Asia’s leading platform for CSR thought leadership and practice.

The opening keynote address will be presented by H.E. Dr. Jose Ramos-Horta, Nobel Peace Laureate, Former President of Timor-Leste 2007-2012 and UN Special Representative to Guinea-Bissau 2013-2014.

Dr. Ramos-Horta has been the international voice of the Timorese people. His leadership in taking Timor-Leste from a difficult period in its history to economic growth in just over a decade serves as a model for community-building in the twenty-first century.

The 2014 AFCSR carries the theme “Building Resilient Communities: How Business, Government and Social Enterprises can Work Together.” The conference aims to tackle key questions that include: How do resilient communities come about? What can experiences of different countries stricken by natural calamity and other disasters teach us? What role does CSR play? How can business, government and social enterprises rethink the way we find solutions to the big challenges of our time?

AFCSR 2014 will feature thought provoking plenary discussions, cutting-edge concurrent sessions for CSR practitioners and the prestigious Asian CSR Awards and the Intel-AIM Corporate Responsibility Award.
