June 28, 2013 - Alfa Laval celebrates the opening of its new Service Centre in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam. The centre specializes in plate heat exchangers reconditioning, separator and decanter maintenance, serving customers from a wide range of industries, such as palm oil, refinery, environment, and marine, etc., situated in Central Peninsular Malaysia.
Sam Somporn, Parts & Service Manager, Alfa Laval Malaysia says: “At Alfa Laval, we have a strong commitment towards customer service. This new centre boasts larger workshop space with complementing tools and facility to support our existing network of field-service specialists and other service centres in Malaysia. It will allow us to provide better and faster services to our clients; and help improve the overall customers’ equipment lifecycle management.” On top of our service presence in Peninsular Malaysia, we also have service centres located in Bintulu and Sandakan to cater to the service needs of our customers in East Malaysia.
At Alfa Laval, customer service starts right after the deal is signed and continue on through the entire lifecycle of the equipment with the focus of establishing long term performance partnerships with our clients. At the service centres, our objective is to provide maintenance services that restores Alfa Laval equipment to its highest optimum performance complementing the intermediate preventive maintenance services at-site, bestowing our clients the maximum opportunity to capitalize on their business potential with improved equipment uptime and availability.
The new service centre is attached to the Head Sales Office in Malaysia. Central Peninsular Malaysia is a key market for Alfa Laval – and being at Shah Alam adds a few more advantages as many of our partners and customers are within the vicinity. “Being close to our customers is an important part of our strategy. Availability of spare parts and professional help is crucial for keeping our customers’ processes running at optimum conditions, and to ensure maximum uptime,” says Daniel Ng, Managing Director of Alfa Laval Malaysia.
Daniel Ng added, “Shah Alam has always been a strategic location for Alfa Laval Malaysia, we have had a presence here since 1969 and this latest investment shows the strength of our commitment to continual growth and development.”
The centre is 1000 sqm and specialized in full scope reconditioning of Alfa Laval’s plate heat exchangers (PHE), decanters and high speed separators with advanced technology and environment friendly processes. To start with, the centre handles up to 10000 PHE plates, and 60 units of decanter maintenance per year. The repairing of basic Welded Heat Exchangers is also possible to be performed here.
