Singapore launches Green IT Award

The Singapore Business Federation (SBF), IBM Singapore and Institute of Technical Education (ITE) today launched the Singapore Green IT Award to acknowledge excellent use of sustainable IT solutions by locally-based companies.

Split into two categories, the award consists of the Enterprise Green Innovation Award, and Small & Medium Business Green Innovation Award, and are eligible to all businesses registered with SBF.

Interested candidates will be evaluated according to a green IT Index developed by Frost & Sullivan in the areas of green IT implementation, corporate environment responsibility, measurement of impact, and innovation, and must address the needs of their business, ecology and society.

Frost & Sullivan’s panel of judges will begin shortlisting candidates after the submission deadline of 31 January 2010, and will conduct interviews and site visits leading up to the 9 April 2010 award ceremony during Eco World 2010.

This initiative is supported by Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (iDA), International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, National Environment Agency (NEA), Singapore Compact for CSR and Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF).
