REFORM Textile Waste, RETHINK Fashion Consumption: A Workshop

It is essential for all of us to understand the need and urgency to reduce textile waste.

The textile industry, after oil, is the second largest polluter in the world. Textile waste is one of the biggest negative externalities generated by this industry, in addition to the related energy consumption and contamination of air, water, and soil. Further, a 400% increase in clothing consumption in the past several decades has resulted in 70,000 tons or more of textile waste per day in China alone.

Join Green Initiatives for an interactive workshop where we aim to put ideas into actions and experiment with new practices that can help us transform our relationship with fashion into a more sustainable one.

We welcome participation from individuals of all backgrounds - be it fashion designers, textile industry professionals, or simply consumers. We hope to turn this into an evening of learning + inspiration, where everyone can leave the event with more knowledge + tools to engage in eco-responsible fashion!

It’s time to rethink textile waste!
