Eco-Business is looking for a passionate and motivated individual to join our team to lead revenue growth and to scale our partnerships regionally. This is a revenue-driving leadership role for someone with a strong track record of exceeding targets, building high-performing sales teams, and with a knack for identifying commercial opportunities.
You will work closely with our partnerships team on scaling Eco-Business’ products and services across the region, will be accountable for revenue performance, pipeline health, and team development, as well as contribute to our innovation challenge partnership development efforts.
The role
You will report to the Chief Commercial Officer, and work with the wider EB team across the region. You must have an excellent work ethic, be disciplined and work to tight deadlines, be a team player, and possess a keen interest in sustainable development and how it relates to the business world. The role requires a deep understanding of sustainable development and innovation-related trends and developments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Meeting revenue targets and promoting Eco-Business’s suite of products, including marketing services, subscription revenue, branded content, events, research, consulting, and training solutions
- Possessing strong lead generation and ‘hunter’ capabilities to identify and win new clients and partners
- Identifying new revenue streams and business opportunities across Malaysia and the wider Asia-Pacific region
- Overseeing and managing Partnership Managers across the region, providing coaching, performance management, and career development
- Designing and implementing performance indicators (KPIs) to track individual, team, and business-level progress against revenue targets
- Building and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders at key partner organisations, acting as a trusted advisor
- Leading high-value pitches, negotiations, and client proposals, and supporting the team in closing complex deals
- Working closely with the editorial, marketing, and events teams to ensure client solutions are delivered to a high standard
- Representing Eco-Business at industry events, and where appropriate, present or moderate at partner and industry events
- Using and managing a CRM system for relationship management and administration
Requirements:
- A university degree in Business, Communications, or any other relevant field
- At least 6 years of relevant working experience in sales, business development, or partnerships, with a strong record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets
- Some prior experience managing, mentoring, or informally leading others, with the readiness to step into a full people-leadership role
- A strong understanding of sustainable development matters in the Asia-Pacific region
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate strategy into measurable results
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and numerical skills
- Strong written and spoken English language skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- A proactive, results-driven attitude with the ability to work independently and lead with minimal supervision
- Motivated by a performance-based earning structure, with an appetite to grow income through commission on revenue delivered
Good to have:
- Experience working across multiple markets in the Asia-Pacific region
- Confident presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to represent Eco-Business at senior industry forums
- An existing senior-level network within the sustainable development ecosystem
- Passion for and knowledge of the Eco-Business brand
This role is based in Malaysia, with some occasional travel required.
