Reducing unnecessary waste in the hospitality sector

Reducing unnecessary waste in the hospitality sector

Every year, more than 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in the ocean. Many businesses are trying to tackle the problem, but only collective action can move the needle significantly.

WWF-Singapore’s Plastic ACTion (PACT) initiative has identified amenity items as a source of unnecessary waste. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the amount of waste arising from amenity items is bound to increase significantly. We would like to share ideas on how to tackle this important topic, and we have fresh consumer insights to support our plans.

Agenda:

  • Best practice sharing by Veronique Augier, Accor Hotels & Resorts Director of Communications & CSR Asia Pacific
  • Consumer insights on Amenity Kits, presented by Adeline Loo, WWF-SG Market Transformation
  • How to balance sustainability, costs and consumer expectations? by Dr Yvonne Lin, WWF-Singapore Materials Expert

This is a closed door, virtual event for the hospitality industry. If you are interested to attend, please email markets@wwf.sg for registration.
