Breakfast Session: Living Buildings. Winning the Green Challenge.

Interested in improving your environmental performance by tackling your physical work environments? This breakfast talk examines issues of sustainability in relation to the built environment. Notions of healthy, clean and efficient cities and buildings are discussed, as well as the type of solutions generated worldwide to deliver these. In this context, existing technology and techniques that deliver ‘green’ buildings, workplaces, homes and neighbourhoods are introduced, such as those certified by the Living Building Challenge™ - a building certification program and advocacy tool which defines the most advanced measure of sustainability in the built environment possible today.

This context serves to introduce existing technology and techniques that deliver ‘green’ buildings, workplaces, homes and neighbourhoods, such as those certified by the Living Building Challenge™ - a building certification program and advocacy tool which defines the most advanced measure of sustainability in the built environment possible today.

The audience will be engaged in how this performance challenge is laid out and how existing buildings have successfully delivered: generating all of their own energy with renewable resources, capturing and treating all of their water and operating efficiently without the use of toxic materials.
