Who Should Attend
Individuals involved in planning and implementing ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in their organization, including Management Representative (MR), management / supervisory staff or ISO committee members.
Mr Tommy Cheong is the EMS Manager of DAS Certification Singapore and had graduated with a Masters in Environmental Science. He was also appointed as the project leader for ISO 14001 witness audit project by Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) and had in turn successfully led the company to be the first certification body to be accredited by SAC for ISO 14001 standard in year 2011.
In September 2012, DAS Certification Singapore, honourably represented by Mr Cheong, was also invited by SPRING Standards Division to participate in the standard development work on ISO 14001. As a member of the Business Sustainability Assessment Technical Committee (under SPRING Singapore), he attended focus groups to monitor international standards in the area of environment and at the same time attended technical committee meetings with members from government agencies, academia and private companies to discuss on the issues in the Standards pertaining to Singapore.
Mr Cheong was also nominated by SPRING Singapore to attend the ISO/TC 207 20th Plenary Meetings held at Gaborone International Convention Centre in Botswana from 20th - 28th June 2013; the purpose of the meeting is to discuss standardisation in the field of Environmental Management Systems and tools in support of sustainable development.
