8th Annual Waste Management Middle East Forum

The GCC region which has some of the most wealthy nations in the world, is facing such issues associated with waste management that are as acute as some of the fast developing countries. This year alone, gulf countries will generate as much as 29.07 million tonnes. It also has been observed that countries like Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Kuwait rank in the top ten list worldwide in terms of per capita solid waste generation.

These countries had devised a uniform waste management system in the 90’s in tune with the rising populations and changing life styles, but despite the implementation of a comprehensive strategy the desired results are yet to be achieved.

The Waste Management Middle East Forum (10 – 11 October 2017, Dubai-UAE)
will emphasize on recycling and waste-to-energy with a specific focus on environmental-friendly treatment capacities in addition to technologies that are already in place today through presentations & discussions by leading government officials, industry experts and leaders.
