2rd Annual World Congress of Biodiversity 2013

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the BIT’s 2nd Annual World Congress of Biodiversity, Ecology and Environment, as the Conference Chair it is my honour and pleasure to invite you to participate in BioD-2013, which will be held April 25-27, 2013, Nanjing, China.

The 1st Annual World Congress of Biodiversity-2012 was held in Xi’an last April and played a special role in advancing the understanding and a proactive approach to Biodiversity. Inspired by outstanding keynote lectures by ten Nobel laureates, nearly 200 expert speakers from more than 29 countries shared their views, concerns and achievements. The focus of BioD-2012 included eco-economy, eco-civilization, biodiversity management as well as in depth scientific and technical explorations across a wide spectrum of biodiversity issues. For all participants, it was an exciting and unforgettable experience and one that added concrete value for speakers and the more than 1500 researchers, developers, pure and applied scientists, educators, journalists, business leaders and policy makers from every corner of our globe.

The success of BioD-2012 has earned the Congress a solid position as an event with global influence and a powerful platform for international exchange, cooperation and collaboration in all aspects of biodiversity.

BIT’s 2nd Annual World Congress of Biodiversity, Ecology and Environment will consist of the 55 sections covering.  genetic, population, species and ecosystem diversity, focused on sharing leading edge upstream and downstream achievements and research opportunities. The Organizing Committee is committed to providing a well structured framework for formal discussion, a suitable platform for informal exchanges and networking designed to ensure and support concrete outcomes in terms of enhanced, extended and completely new collaborations in research and development project design and execution as well the exploration of specific business opportunities .

Drawing on the input from the Xi’an BioD-2012 Conference participants, BioD-2013 will offer 7 tracks: 1- Global Policy, Economics and Actions on Biodiversity Protection, 2- Basic Science of Biodiversity and Ecology Research, 3- Methods and Technologies in Ecology and Biodiversity, 4- Breaking Research in Ecology and Biodiversity, 5- Critical Issues in Biodiversity Conservation, 6-Young Investigator’s Research & Education Sessions, 7- Networking and Matchmaking. These tracks will be introduced by authoritative key-note addresses, supported by workshops and ample opportunity for formal and informal discussions.
