Prakash Kashwan

Assistant Professor, Comparative Environmental Policy and Politics, Department of Political Science

Dr. Kashwan's research, scholarship, and teaching is concentrated in the areas of comparative politics, political economy, environmental politics, environmental justice, international environmental policies and institutions, and the politics of international development. His research has been published in high impact peer reviewed journals, such as Ecological Economics, Regional Environmental Change, Land Use Policy, International Journal of the Commons, Global Environmental Politics, and Journal of Theoretical Politics. His first book, Democracy in the Woods: Environmental Conservation and Social Justice in India, Tanzania, and Mexico has been published recently by Oxford University Press. Dr. Kashwan has published in popular media forums including the Washington Post's Monkey Cage blog, Wilson Center's web platform New Security Beat, and the political ecology blog Entitle.
