Pawanexh Kohli

As the founding CEO of India’s National Centre for Cold-chain Development (NCCD), Professor Pawanexh Kohli played a key role in shaping policy and projects aimed particularly in developing cold-chain networks for food supply and in synergy with the cold-chain needed for other services.

Since establishing it in 2012, NCCD produced over 30 reports and policy pieces under his leadership which set the agenda for India in this area. They also delivered one of the first cold-chains spanning north to south and one from east to west in the Indian sub-continent. Kohli also acted as the Chief Advisor to the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare on post-harvest management, cold-chain and supply chain. In 2018, University of Birmingham conferred on him the title Professor Post-harvest Logistics for a 3 year period.
