Texcare Asia moves to Shanghai for 2013 show
Rapid growth in laundry services provides great opportunities for textile care professionals
After two successful editions in Beijing, Texcare Asia, the international trade fair for modern textile care, will relocate to Shanghai, starting with its 7th edition in 2013. The biennial show will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 19 – 21 November. Across total 11,500sqm, the fair will showcase the latest innovations and solutions in textile care to an international audience. Professionals who specialise in laundry, dry-cleaning, ironing and dyeing machinery as well as textile management systems, laundromat franchises and cleaning agents are all expected to exhibit at the three-day show.
The show’s last edition in 2011 added up to spectacular results. The event hosted 135 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions, and welcomed over 7,000 visitors from 50 countries and regions. Visitor attendance was up 18% from the 2009 show, and the top five countries for visitors outside of China included Australia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.
Mr Jason Cao, General Manager, Messe Frankfurt in China said: “The global economy may be facing some serious challenges at the moment, but it had little impact on China’s textile market. In 2011, most of China’s laundry equipment manufacturers increased sales by up to 30%, with some going even as high as 50%. The government has legislated for stronger regulation within the domestic laundry industry. These new guidelines have started to encourage manufacturers to find more cost-, labour-, energy- and water-efficient solutions to their businesses. Texcare Asia is a chance for industry professionals involved in all aspects of textile care to exchange ideas and discover new possibilities for their operations.”
Rapid growth in laundry services provides great opportunities for textile care professionals
In addition to stronger government policies, China’s laundry industry has faced several other major challenges recently, namely, rising labour and operating costs. But regardless of these challenges, the industry has found solutions for a market with rapidly growing demand. As China’s middle class continues to grow, personal and commercial consumption of textiles has increased the need for better machinery that can clean and manage garments, linens, toiletry goods and much more, leading to the growth of automation technology within the industry.
Automation plays a key role in the development of nearly every industrialised countries economy. In the textile industry, it allows for more units of an item to be produced and processed with uniform quality, at a fraction of the time. And with China’s labour and operation costs rising, automation has lead to the growing use of items such as tunnel washers, high-speed ironing and folding machines as well as energy-efficient dryers in laundry businesses across the country.
Texcare Asia allows the industry’s professionals to take advantage of these exciting opportunities. Mr Jason Cao added: “Over 80% of Texcare Asia exhibitors from the past few years have said that they achieved business objectives at the fair, and more than 90% have expressed that the fair delivered their target buyers. We believe that by moving the fair to Shanghai, our exhibitors will get the chance to tap into one of China’s fastest growing middle-class markets as well as the growing collection of hotels across the city and region. The fair is the regional platform for Asia where the industry’s innovations are unveiled. And like previous editions, I believe the 2013 show will showcase some extraordinary achievements.”
