3rd March 2014, Vancouver: Fleming Gulf Conferences announced its 3rd Annual Global Sustainable Mining Summit, to be held on 25-26 May 2013 in Vancouver – Canada.

Mining companies are aiming to leverage their sustainability practices into core business strategy by actively involving stakeholders and managing their risks, undertaking initiatives for local community development and adopting best practices for environment management and water conservation.
The one-of-its kind event will present a 360 degree view on the current sustainability concerns in mining and gather thought leaders for 2 days of knowledge sharing and networking.
Mine closure best practices, key aspects of stakeholder engagement, considerations to obtain and maintain SLO, supply chain sustainability, resource efficient, low carbon emissions, long term water management strategies, environment monitoring technologies, and aboriginal engagement will be few of the key topics to be addressed.
Since it’s launch in 2012, the Global Sustainable Mining Summit has witnessed participation from some of the leading minds in the field with companies like Rio Tinto, ArcelorMittal, Dundee Precious Metals, World Bank, United Nations Environment Programme presenting their views. Technology providers like Outotec, ERM, Wirtgen America, SustaiNet Software, Veolia Water, Hatch, Twaron Sulfron, Solar Frontier, SGS have sponsored the last 2 editions.
Through active peer to peer networking, dedicated knowledge sharing sessions, end user case studies and solution provider insights, attendees at the summit will take away pivotal strategies to reduce environmental footprint, and promote responsible, sustainable mining.
