Clenergy supplies for China’s largest solar-roof installation

Jinhai Pulp & Paper in China’s southernmost province of Hainan is famous for the world’s-largest single pulping line, and now as the host of China’s largest solar-roof power plant. Clenergy, the solar park solution provider, was selected as the premium supplier for the project, which involved mounting a solar power system on top of the pulping line facility.

Covering four square kilometers in the Yangpu economic development zone of Danzhou, the Jinhai Pulp and Paper facility mainly produces eucalyptus pulp. The 37MW project has entered early production, with a final construction phase underway. Upon completion, the solar panel arrays will produce more than 48 million kWh of green power per year.

Clenergy is helping to realize this target with its PV-ezRack SolarRoof mounting system for the Jinhai Pulp & Paper facilities’ trapezoidal sheet roofs. According to Clenergy’s project engineer, the biggest challenge for this project is the strong wind load and saltwater corrosion in the coastal area. Clenergy’s universal roof mount system SolarRoof is up for the challenge.

The selected roof hook from SolarRoof’s versatile range of interfaces enables the system to fit trapezoidal sheets firmly. Moreover, the SolarRoof series features easy and efficient installation, while the patented rail, Z-module and splice kits eliminate the need for onsite cutting and welding.

The mounting system material consists of anodized aluminum, and stainless steel with excellent surface coating, ensuring a high level of corrosion resistance. The high quality materials work in conjunction with the structure to optimize the system’s lifespan and make it suitable for harsh environments in coastal areas, even during severe typhoons.

“Clenergy is proud to support its partners and to be involved in this momentous project,” said Andy Ye, Clenergy Vice President and Secretary of the Board. “Beyond our products and excellent service, Clenergy’s reputation and track record on similar projects in China helped us to win the contract.”

In 2012, Clenergy achieved a large number of successes for trapezoidal sheet roof projects in China, including a 15MW project for a world-leading solar energy company’s factories in Tianjing, Hengshui and Haikou, as well as a 12MW project in Baoding for a well-known Chinese motor factory.
