The Association of Dutch Business people-Dutch Chamber of Commerce (“ADB-DutchCham”) in Singapore is excited to announce the 5th edition of the Winsemius Awards Gala Dinner, which will take place on Thursday May 30th, 2019 at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia hotel.
Held annually, the Awards are named after long-time economic advisor to Singapore, Dutchman Albert Winsemius. The Winsemius awards celebrate the strong business ties between Singapore and The Netherlands. This year’s theme is “Sustainable Business: Collaborate to Innovate”.
All companies—Dutch or local; multinational or start-up; from all sectors—may compete for the prestigious Winsemius Awards, as long as there is a Dutch-Singapore connection. This could be a partnership, a business relationship, a mixed innovative team, trade links or investments.
Inspire the jury with innovative processes, products or services that positively impact society or the environment. Judges will look out for entries demonstrating a clear collaborative link between Singapore and The Netherlands (e.g. combining resources such as knowledge, technology, manpower; trade; partnerships) and impact generated by the innovative product, service, business model, or collaboration.
The categories for the 2019 Awards are as follows:
- Manufacturing & Supply Chain
- Services & Hospitality
- Maritime, Water & Offshore
- Small Business Rising Star
- Red-Orange Inspiration
- Best Collaborative Team
This year, there are two new categories to celebrate excellent Collaboration and Team Work, namely the Red-Orange Inspiration Award for the Singaporean company that inspires most; and the Best Collaborative Team Award for teams driving an impactful collaborative innovation.

About the Winsemius Awards
Held annually, the Winsemius Awards are named after Dutch economist Dr. Albert Winsemius, who was an important advisor to the late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew from 1961 to 1984 and played a major role in the formulation of Singapore’s national economic development strategy. Their close relationship continues to inspire the Dutch business community to maintain and celebrate the strong corporate and diplomatic ties.
ADB-DutchCham is the result of a merger between the Association of Dutch Business people (founded in 1990) which targeted individual professionals and the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (founded in 2008) which targeted companies.
In 2018, ADB and DutchCham merged to strengthen the links between those interested in Dutch business, to facilitate business links between Dutch and Singaporean companies, and to represent Dutch businesses in Singapore.
ADB-DutchCham has a membership of 20 Orange members (mostly large multinationals), 100+ Corporate members and 350+ Individual members and is open to all professionals and companies with an interest in business from, in, or with the Netherlands. The focus of ADB-DutchCham is on areas of particular strength and collaboration between the Netherlands and Singapore, including innovation, sustainability and water management.
