Butterfield (Singapore) Pte. Ltd, a leading global trust and fiduciary services provider, is now receiving applications for the annual Butterfield Postgraduate Scholarship.
To support the next generation of environmental leaders, Butterfield awards the scholarship to one student each year pursuing a postgraduate degree related to the preservation and improvement of island environments. The scholarship of USD$25,000 is tenable for up to four years of full-time study.
Barisse Griffin from The Bahamas, who received the 2019 scholarship to fund her master’s degree in Disasters, Adaption and Development Management at King’s College in London, said: “The Butterfield Postgraduate Scholarship has given me a head-start in my career, enabling me to focus on my studies, while gaining experience in the field of disaster and development. Barisse is now developing strategies to improve crisis response in The Bahamas and across the Caribbean, helping to combat natural disasters and protect the islands.

The scholarship is open to students from all ten jurisdictions in which Butterfield operates, including Guernsey, Jersey, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, the UK, The Bahamas, Switzerland, Mauritius and Singapore.
