Smart cities in the Philippines could boost tourism

Creating sustainable cities in the Philippines is one way that the country can attract more tourists and achieve its target of 10 million tourist arrivals by 2016. The opportunity to build smart cities in the Philippines was explored by a meeting between Filipino and British businessmen this week. British businessmen said at present, the biggest challenge for the Philippines is mobility and an efficient mode of transportation. They added, the Philippines must also integrate information, communication, and technology infrastructure in urban planning.
