Normal Is Over: Green Drinks December Film Screening

Green Initiatives’ 69th film screening will feature Normal Is Over, a film directed by award-winning and investigative TV-journalist, Renee Scheltema, and that examines how various human activities have inadvertently endangered our planet.

Depletion of natural resources, species extinction, climate change, industrialization of the food system, etc are all a result of human activity, yet are deeply connected with our economic and financial systems.

Normal Is Over not only challenges the audience at various levels, it also offers hope to them. It is a film about problems, but also a film about solutions. Furthermore, Renée also offers solutions that can be implemented immediately, from practical daily fixes to different perspectives to the overarching myths of our time.

Note:

  • Film screening will be followed by a short discussion.
  • There will be an entrance fee of ¥50 for all registered guests, that includes snacks, juice and beer. ¥70 for non-registered guests. ¥20 for students and interns, with PRIOR REGISTRATION and student card.

Film Synopsis

Renée Scheltema takes off on a multinational voyage, meeting not only prominent experts, but also everyday citizens who concentrate on matters such as organic agriculture, the banning of plastic, saving species, ecological economics, sustainable architecture, renewable energy, and more.
