The fast-changing landscape of sustainability initiatives in supply chains matters to everyone: consumers, buyers, traders, producers, and policymakers.
The International Trade Centre (ITC) is very pleased to invite you to Trade for Sustainable Development Forum 2014in Geneva on 1-2 October. This international event for practitioners from public organizations, associations, universities, SMEs and multinationals will address sustainability standards in global supply chains, assess benchmarking solutions for this complex web of standards, and propose a core set of principles for sustainable trade.
ITC, an agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization, is the only UN entity that focuses on unlocking international competitiveness for small and medium-sized firms in developing countries. Addressing sustainability standards is core to this mandate.
Participation is free of charge, and seats are limited. Please note that the venue for the opening session will be at the World Trade Organization, as part of the annual WTO Public Forum. By partnering with WTO, the Trade for Sustainable Development Forum 2014 will reach out to the 1500 representatives from academia, business, the media, governments, parliamentarians and inter-governmental organizations that attend this important WTO public outreach event.
