Sompo Japan Insurance, Inc. (President: Kengo Sakurada; hereinafter, “ Sompo Japan”) was selected as one of the Ethisphere 2014 World’s Most Ethical Companies as announced on March 20, 2014.
The Ethisphere Institute is an international think-tank based in the United States dedicated to business ethics and corporate social responsibility and each year performs research as part of its effort to share best practices in business ethics, anti corruption and sustainability.
This year Ethisphere selected 144 companies from 41 industries. The selection of companies are based on an evaluation of their guidelines on business ethics, history of litigation or regulatory violations, investments in innovation and sustainable business practices, activities as a corporate citizen as well as analysis from, industry peers, suppliers and customers.
Sompo Japan was recognized as a company that is demonstrating leadership in ethical business practices based on research performed at multiple stages, including responses to questionnaires created by the Ethisphere Institute.
Going forward, Sompo Japan will continue to look one step ahead when it comes to addressing sustainability challenges through its business strategy as well as acting in a fair and honest manner based on highly-esteemed ethics and rational decision making.
