Solar Media announces Asia's premier Energy Storage Summit

Solar Media has launched Energy Storage Summit Asia 2024, which will take place from 9-10 July at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. Spearheaded by a multinational advisory board of major energy storage investors, including Aquila Clean Energy, ion Ventures, DBS Bank, Ditrolic Energy, Eku Energy and more, the Energy Storage Summit Asia marks a significant milestone in Asia’s renewable energy journey as the region’s first conference exclusively dedicated to energy storage systems.

The recently announced participation of the Sustainable Energy Development Authority of Malaysia (SEDA) and Malaysia’s largest publicly listed utility, Tenaga Nasional, in this summit underscores the growing local government commitment to increasing storage innovation and increased need for more investment into regional energy storage deployment.

With a focus on accelerating the adoption of energy storage solutions, the summit will be a unique platform for industry leaders to drive Asia’s green energy transition forward. Delegates will join from markets across Asia, from the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, and Malaysia through to Japan and India, will discuss how companies can capitalise on the current renewable energy build-out.

The region has already begun its levelling up for energy storage projects as, for example, Malaysian manufacturing firm Leader Energy has partnered with BASF Stationary Energy Storage to develop long-duration energy storage projects with a total of eight sites already identified as opportunities for planned investment.

Wider investment opportunities are also taking centre stage in developing the renewables market of Japan where 32 battery energy storage systems (BESS) were announced as winners of first-ever competitive tender. Downstream development activity has been driven from major corporations such as Marubeni, the Sumitomo Corporation and Gore Street Capital backed Itochu. Major Chinese clean energy manufacturers CATL, Jinkosolar and Sungrow are among those taking battery storage solutions to the Japanese market this year.

With growing interest in energy storage technologies to facilitate cross-national power exports and deliver local commercial and industrial solutions for decarbonised industrial power, key political stakeholders have taken notice, and investor confidence continues to grow within the region.

Book your ticket now to secure your place, learn from those already producing revenue from BESS solutions, and stay engaged with the ever-growing energy storage market across Asia.
