Manchester-based environmental consultancy REC Ltd. has further expanded its UK reach and opened a third Scottish office in Aberdeen.
The new office is designed to complement REC’s long-standing Glasgow office and a recently established Edinburgh office, which opened on Princess Street in July 2013. The new Aberdeen arm will initially be dedicated to asbestos services and will continue to increase the brand’s growing profile in Scotland.
As leading asbestos specialists and one of the few environmental consultancies with privately owned UKAS accredited testing laboratories, the Aberdeen office is ideally positioned to further expand asbestos management services across Scotland.
The new office will be the 14th REC office to open in the UK and has been facilitated by an outstanding external audit, which saw REC Group divisions come under inspection. REC has consequently been recommended for certification against the internal management standards ISO 9001:2008, 14001:2004 and OSHAS 18001:2007.
Alongside geographical expansion, REC is also looking to expand its service provision to respond to increasing environmental challenges, such as the effects of climate change and a growing population. With the recent appointment of a new Managing Director, Gary Winder - Chair of the CIWEM Contaminated Land Network, REC is well placed to develop new service infrastructures.
