ECO LIFESTYLES 2012 in Shanghai to Showcase Leading Eco Friendly Companies and International Green Brands

Eco Lifestyles 2012, the 2ND International Eco and LOHAS Exhibition and Conference for China, will continue its billing as “the largest and most comprehensive eco and LOHAS exhibition in China”.

To be held at the Shanghai Mart Expo from 25 to 27 October 2012, ECO LIFESTYLES 2012 has already been described as the “must not miss” event in the eco and LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) industry in China.

The event, fully supported by the municipal government of Shanghai, has received overwhelming response from exhibitors and visitors in its inaugural show in September 2011. More than 170 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions, and over 19,000 trade and consumer visitors, attended the 2011 exhibition. Press coverage was extensive, with more than 100 reporters on-site and the exhibition was featured in over 250 overseas and domestic media.

Response from exhibitors, visitors and the media, was very positive. ICS TV, Shanghai’s leading English TV News broadcaster, has described ECO LIFESTYLES 2011 as “an event that has enhanced the public’s views towards eco-living.” Dragon TV, one of Shanghai’s leading TV stations, has described the exhibition as having “reflected the advocacy and attention on healthy living, the green city in Shanghai’s “POST WORLD EXPO” era. Overall, the event was very meaningful.”

Mr Bill Dunster from UK-based ZEDfactory, a leader in low carbon architecture, said: “The inaugural Eco Lifestyle event has many highlights and plenty of activities. It won a lot of positive confirmation from professional visitors and received a considerable amount of media attention. Zedfactory will continue to participate in the ECO LIFESTYLES exhibition and strengthen the cooperation.”

Overall, ECO LIFESTYLES 2011 featured exhibitors from 13 countries and regions, including: China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, USA, Malaysia, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, UK and France.

The ECO LIFESTYLES 2011 exhibition, was held concurrently with the ECO INDUSTRY AND LOHAS FORUM 2011. The trade forum saw many professionals, government officials and green experts sharing their insights on the latest developments in the industry. Zhang Tianmei, General Manager of Shanghai TESTE, a leader in the testing and certification of textiles, whose headquarters is in Zurich, commented: “We are grateful that the forum has given us a platform to enable many people from different industries to learn our concept of ecology and environmental protection.”

The Eco Fashion Zone and the Eco Fashion Show, a crowd favourite, will continue in ECO LIFESTYLES 2012. The segment saw students from the region’s top fashion institute, Raffles Design Institute, unveiling a one-off collection created by final year students, who developed their innovative new clothes with sustainable product designer Lily Moyon.

Another crowd puller, The Green Kitchen, will also continue into ECO LIFESTYLES 2012. Visitors to the exhibition will get the chance to savour tasty and healthy treats, as well as be accosted with a showcase of natural and organic foods and beverages. A Wine Pavilion will also be organized to showcase the health benefits of drinking red wine.

ECO LIFESTYLES 2012 is supported by the Shanghai municipal government, including Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information, and Shanghai Municipal Agricultural Commission.

ECO LIFESTYLES 2012 is organized by Shanghai Ecowing Business Consulting Co, Ltd. The company’s Managing Director, Ms Emma Xu, said: “China is already the largest market for luxury consumer products brands, such as Gucci and Prada. With income levels rising, coupled with the government’s push towards more sustainable green policies, we feel that China also has the potential to become the largest market in the world for eco and green brands.”

The organizers are expecting a turnout of 350 exhibitors and 30,000 trade and consumer visitors for ECO LIFESTYLES 2012.
