Dubai Supreme Council of Energy will be taking part as a Strategic Partner at this year’s META Projects conference taking place on the 17th, 18th & 19th November at the Shangri-La, Dubai. They will be joining the likes of other top-level institutions such as Union National Bank, SMBC and White & Case and over 500 government officials, developers, off takers, financiers and investors to discuss the latest market trends and opportunities for projects across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa.

As a member of the prestigious META Projects Steering Committee, Taher Diab, Director, Strategy and Planning, Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, has been working with other industry leaders to help guide the content of the event.

He will also be joining the panel ‘Dubai’s Integrated Energy Strategy: Pioneering Sustainability and Energy Efficiency’ where he will be discussing how projects are currently being funded in the region and Dubai’s integrated Energy Strategy 2030 amongst other issues.

His panel is part of a new edition to this year’s META Projects conference, the dedicated Renewable Energy Strategies & Financing day which has attracted strong support from the sector including ACWA Power, SheerWind and First Solar to name a few.

Taher joins a best in class speaker faculty formed of over 80 top developers and financiers from across the region including Shurooq, Parsons Brinckerhoff and Khatif Holding Co from the Middle East,Enerjisa and Otoyol Yatirim ve Işletme from Turkey, and Eskom, KenGen and African Development Bank from Africa, as they come together to share their experiences and lessons learned to develop best practice.

He has described the event as “an excellent platform for public and private sectors to exchange views on ways to promote collaboration and partnership in energy projects.”

With 48 per cent of the audience formed of government officials and developers and 41 per cent being Director level or above, it’s not surprising that Fathima Lijiya, Assistant Vice President, Debt Market, Syndication at First Gulf Bank regards META Projects as “one of the best networking events in the region.”
