The Green Building market in South East Asia is a huge and varied market from developed green markets to new and emerging opportunities. Being tropical climate, the importance of Green Building or efficient Buildings becomes more and easily justified. Singapore, which leads the forefront in greening the country, has strong government incentives and support. Another key South East Asia market Thailand, was rated one of the top ten CDM countries this year. Thailand has placed a strong focus in industrial developments and CDM projects for the past years until recently. Just earlier this month, the newly formed Thailand Green Building Institute has recently announced a Thai designed Green Building Rating Tools called “TREES” that encourages Commercial and Residential Facilities to get themselves green-certified. The “TREES” certification is backed by the Ministry of Energy, Thailand. Other key emerging markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia; New markets such as Cambodia, Myanmar clearly justify the region potential.
