Janissa Ng, senior manager of strategic communications at conservation group World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Singapore, has moved to public relations firm Spurwing Communications.

She takes on the role of account director at an agency that specialises in healthcare, food and nutrition. The agency’s clients include DSM, Johnson & Johnson, Bayer, and Syngenta.

The move marks a return to the agency side of the communications business for Ng, who previously worked with Ogilvy. Over her career, she has also worked for International Enterprise Singapore and Millward Brown.

During more than four years with WWF Singapore, Ng worked on programmes that highlighted the illegal wildlife trade in Southeast Asia, the sharks fin trade, and marine plastic pollution.

One of the most memorable campaigns Ng worked on was Ivory Lane, a fictitious ivory brand launched by WWF in 2018. The campaign contributed to public support for a ban on ivory in Singapore, which is set to come into place in September this year.
