Oil and gas revenues set to surge as telcos and pokies stall

Revenue in Australia’s oil and gas sector will surge this year, making it the standout sector as the mining boom fades, research shows.

And the internet shopping and online eduction industries will also prosper, along with the construction sector as demand for flats and townhouses grows, Ibis World says.

The research house says companies that make poker machines are likely to falter, along with mineral explorers and telcos that specialise in wired services.
