SMSN2012 Social Media and the Supply Network Conference

Some companies are facing disruption in the current industry and retail environment. Climate change and future carbon taxes will begin to impact spending in 2012. More than ever, there is a need to harness the power of effective communication within business processes throughout the supply network.

The use of social media within supply networks can assist with reducing the overall carbon footprint in terms of day to day business communication, business media, improved communication for physical logistics and identify wasted resources whilst increasing the opportunity to share and expand ideas and knowledge within the field.

SMSN2012 will investigate the growing knowledge base of supply networks with the integral power of social media and how social media can be used effectively to communicate and manage complex often non-rational, supply networks and systems. SMSN2012 brings together diverse groups and interests that individually have little hope of effecting major change within the eco and socio-eco systems and provides a critical mass, where before, it was not possible.

Call for papers and workshop submissions is open until 12 November 2011.
