An Overview to Energy Efficiency Measurement & Verification Protocol

The Philippines holds the unenviable record of having the highest residential power rates not only in Asia but in the entire world and the second highest in commercial sector – next only to Singapore. Availability of energy from new sources in the country is not giving any great news either for the immediate future. So practicing energy efficiency is an imperative for the survival of industries today!

This 1-day program is designed to provide awareness on the continuing need for a standard method to qualify the results of energy efficiency investments. Participants will be guided in understanding the Measurement and Verification (M & V), based on the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) – used in more than 40 countries and recognized as the standard for Government and Utility M & V Protocols. It includes topics on the fundamentals of M & V and role of energy audits in setting baseline, how to select the right M & V option, steps in applying IPMVP’s options, interactive effects between measures and how to avoid double counting for individual ECMs, third-party M & V-pros & cons, operation and maintenance – impact on savings and performance guarantee, case studies for industries benchmarking and more!
