Yamazaki Mazak and Cleantech Solar are celebrating the operation of the 1.6MWp rooftop solar system on the company’s newly-expanded, cutting edge factory in Joo Koon, Singapore.
The 16,000 square meter system spans metal and reinforced concrete sections of the roof as well as several carports.
Cleantech Solar took full responsibility for the installation of the system and is in charge of operation, monitoring and maintenance over the life of the agreement.
The system will enable Yamazaki Mazak to reduce its CO2 emissions as well as reduce its operating costs. The shade that the panels provide to the roof naturally reduces the temperature of the fully air-conditioned factory, thereby helping cut down on the plant’s energy consumption.
This project is a testimony of Yamazaki Mazak’s commitment to its environmental policy but also demonstrates that driving sustainability today can also make good business sense.
